Asics Superblast 2 vs Superblast 3 vs Megablast

The Superblast 3 has taken over from the Superblast 2 in Asics’s current BLAST Series, and the Megablast sits right beside it in the same line-up. That’s why all three are on this page. Asics lists each of them as a unisex shoe.

A quick note before the numbers: ATHLO+ doesn’t sell running shoes. Every figure here comes from Asics’s own product pages, which we list at the bottom, not from our own testing.

On Asics’s numbers they get lighter as you go down the list: 249 g for the Superblast 2, 239 g for the Superblast 3 and 230 g for the Megablast. All three have an 8 mm heel drop, and each runs on a different Asics foam.

Side by side

Shoe Weight Heel-to-toe drop Midsole foam (Asics’s name)
Asics Superblast 2 249 g (8.8 oz) 8 mm FF BLAST™ PLUS and FF TURBO™ PLUS
Asics Superblast 3 (current) 239 g (8.4 oz) 8 mm FF LEAP™
Asics Megablast (current) 230 g (8.1 oz) 8 mm FF TURBO²™

You won’t find a stack height here. Asics doesn’t publish one on these product pages, and we’d rather leave it out than borrow a number from somewhere else. Brands weigh a single sample size, so your pair will come out a little different.

Superblast 2 to Superblast 3

The Superblast 2 paired FF BLAST™ PLUS with FF TURBO™ PLUS. For the 3, Asics switched to FF LEAP™, a foam it says is “influenced by our METASPEED™ racing models”, and gave the outsole “a new trampoline pod shape”. Asics lists the 3 at 239 g, 10 g lighter than the 2, and the 8 mm drop hasn’t changed.

Superblast 3 or Megablast?

These two are siblings rather than versions of the same shoe. The Superblast 3 runs on FF LEAP™ and the Megablast on FF TURBO²™. The Megablast is 9 g lighter on Asics’s figures (230 g against 239 g), and both have an 8 mm drop.

Asics’s own product pages give them different goals: “Faster” for the Superblast 3 and “Further” for the Megablast, which Asics calls “one of the bounciest ASICS® trainers”.

Where to buy in Singapore

We don’t sell shoes, and we haven’t checked anyone’s stock for this page. Asics runs its own Singapore online store at asics.com/sg. iRUN Singapore, who supply the data behind the ATHLO+ Shoe Lab, also carry Asics: search iRUN for the Superblast.

Still not sure which suits your stride? FORGED by ReFormd’s 3D running gait analysis, which you can book on ATHLO+, comes with a shoe recommendation.

Where these figures come from

We read these from Asics’s own product pages on 17 Oct 2026. A few links go to copies saved by the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine, so you can still check them after a brand takes a page down. This is a spec comparison, not a review: we haven’t tested these shoes and we’re not ranking them. If the ATHLO+ Shoe Lab shows a different figure, this page is the one taken straight from the brand.
